Voice of Participants to the past event
Here are the feedback from the participants to the rehearsal ride in May.
“I just had sooooo much fun!!! The extraordinary days we felt.
I would like to join again!” |
Exciting ride of 186km for 3 days by mountain bike!
It was just so much fun! Just cycle and cycle waving to the local village people through countryside in Bangladesh. Bumpy road, gravel road, steep hill, we just carry on changing shifts. We cycled overlooking the long beach and enjoying the wide sky. Being stared by curious Bangladeshi, cycling through cows, goats and rikishas, taking a break with fresh coconuts and local sweet spicy tea, enjoyed Bengali meals and wish upon a shooting star... Encounter with people with different values, customs, living in different timeline gave me a new experience and a great discovery. It was a very intense time. If time allows, I will definitely join the event in November. (Miwa Toki from Bangladesh) |
"To see is to believe.
I encountered something I would not see or feel in my daily life. "
I encountered something I would not see or feel in my daily life. "
Don't miss it ! & Just try it!
Just by cycling around, I got to meet people that I would not meet usually and encounter many thing I wouldn't see or feel in my daily life. Through sharing the fun and pain, we could develop the bond beyond language and religion. One new life time memory. Without this event, I do not think I would ever have considered to visit Bangladesh. But seeing is believing. It was surely a tough trip but there was a new discovery and encounter that I would not be able to experience in Japan every day. It was also a great idea that we could contribute a bit to the society by collecting rubbish at the beach with the local people. (Saki Yano from Japan) |
“Various encounters in the poorest country in Asia. These experiences will surely give me the good support for my future.”
The poorest country in Asia with 150 million populations. We cycled though motor bikes and people, and cows eating grass in countryside. We enjoyed the home stay in the local village, and collected rubbish on the longest beach in the world. We also enjoyed walking around Dhaka and listening to the local people who are surviving their lives. I realized how much I enjoyed developing countries through feeling the power in the city and appreciating the hospitality of the local people in the countryside. I easily stumble and become discouraged but encounter with those people, scenery and values will become a good support for my foundation. (H.S from Japan) |
〝I'm a really experienced cyclist, but Bangladesh Discovery Ride was the best I enjoyed in my life. ”
I have completed my cycle ride in 48 districts inside Bangladesh. Also I went to India & Thailand with my cycle. I'm a really experienced cyclist, but Bangladesh Discovery Ride was the best which I enjoyed in my life & I really love to join this again. People from Japan they are very co-operative, clean & very hard working. If I had not joined this event, I could have never understand this. It was not only a ride to just get fun, but also we dance, sing, experience Speed Boat & also spending time with street children. Really I enjoyed the whole Ride indeed. 〝The best part of this ride is, we made new friends from different parts of the world! ”
Discovery ride Bangladesh reminds me of a great memory. Though it was so hot and the route & trail was so rough & tough, we did almost 200km cycling within 3 days. That felt really awesome. How can we forget those moments we paddled hard with great fun! And besides cycling, we also did cultural exchange program and beach cleaning. The best part of this ride is, we made some new friends from different parts of the world! Knowing new people and making new friends is bold achievement of life and we achieved such pleasure. If you haven't tried something like this yet, you must try it this time. Things like this will motivate you in your future days for sure. (RUPAN PROBHAT from Bangladesh) |
“Excellent for those who like an unique experience and/or
a cycling trip” Traveling the countryside of Bangladesh with clean air and little traffic by bicycle. I got along well with the other participants that I had never met. It was tough both physically and from route perspective but it became a valuable experience. I recommend this to the people who like an unique experience or a cycling trip. 〝I clearly remember how everyone ran to us every time we passed the local villages.”
This cycling event was held in a country where a least number of tourists visit in Asia. Cycling in the horrible dust through dangerous CNGs and with cows and loud CNGs on bumpy roads, that was an interesting ride which may not be available in other countries. I clearly remember how everyone ran to us every time we passed the local villages. Hardly any tourist visit those villages and cyclists are yet very are in Bangladesh. The longest beach in the world is very different from the typical beach one would imagine and that was in a way refreshing. The resort we stay on the last day was impressive as I had never expected that such place could exist in Bangladesh. If you like curry, need some exercise, can ride a bicycle, want an unique experience in a developing country, here is a perfect event for you. (SAYAKA TAKANO from Japan) |
〝The last day I was little sad because the journey was going to be over. ”
The Discovery ride was a memorable one for me. it was a 3 day event, and every day was a happy day for me.
We went from Chittagong to Cox's Bazar by bicycle with Japanese friends by village roads, not the main highway road. We saw such beautiful villages, and when we ride through the villages, local people got so interested in us. They stared at us and some asked questions, like "Where are we from? Where are we going? How do we feel? " We crossed a river by speedboat, and the boat was jumping. I enjoyed it so much! In Cox's Bazaar we cleaned the beach and I collected a lot of rubbish. The last day I was little sad because the ride was going to be over. Thanks to YORIKO for arranging such a great ride! (Leo Ismail from Bangladesh) |
